Surf
The combination of surf and yoga is our primary inspiration and focus for the Sirena Social Club retreats. Through surfing, we find our connection with nature, with play, and with the ocean. Surfers are able to tune into the energy of nature in a way that is unlike any other sport, you are physically riding the moving force of the ocean.
No matter what level you are at, surfing can become quite addicting, in order to improve and progress it’s important to spend as much time in the water as possible, to train outside of the water, to spend time watching videos of yourself surfing, and to connect with other surfers to inspire and support you!
Yoga
Yoga is the perfect compliment to surfing, it helps to improve flexibility, range of motion, calm the mind and improve lung capacity. Yoga helps to both prepare the body for surfing and recover the body from surfing as well. Regardless of your level of surfing, you need mobility and flexibility in the legs, hips, feet and ankles to be able to move fluidly, and you also need a strong core, arms and shoulders for paddling, catching a wave and popping up.
Yoga is the perfect practice to strengthen and mobilize all of these parts of the body! Our classes are for all levels and our knowledgeable teachers will meet you exactly where you are in your yoga practice.

​Restorative, gentle or yin yoga is also the perfect anecdote to tired muscles, a sore body, mental and emotional fatigue. Gentle breathing and movement is so important after a long surf or consecutive days of surfing to recover the body quickly so you can go out and catch more waves! Simple poses with long holds and deep breaths can do wonders for the body, mind and spirit.
Surfing has one of the highest learning curves in sports, it is challenging to line up the tides, waves, wind, crowd factors, water temperature, and the time necessary to be able to focus on your session.
By taking an entire week to retreat from the day to day and truly focus on your surfing with Sirena Social Club, you won’t have to think about a thing, as we provide everything you need for the perfect conditions from beginner to advanced. We focus on yoga, video analysis, and connection in support of each other to create real progress in just one short week with us!
